Parents Section & School Procedures

If you need further information please contact the office.

Thank you for your support of the school.  A positive connection between home and school can make all the difference in the life of a student.  Northpark is allowed to work with your most precious gift: your child.  Below is a list of building procedures and guidelines we follow to ensure safety for all students and staff, teach responsibility to students and model respect for all members within our Northpark community.

  • Parents should wait for their children outside of the building at the end of the school day.
  • Parents should park in designated areas and receive their children in the front of the building by the sundial.
  • Parents should park in the designated areas only.  The bus lane and all handicapped parking and loading zones are to be kept clear.
  • All students will exit through the main door (door number 1).
  • Before volunteering in classrooms, please check in at the office first and obtain a visitor's badge.
  • Please call the office when your child misses a day of school.
  • If coming to have lunch with your child, please bring enough for your child only.  Thanks for sending healthy lunches and snacks.  Pop or highly caffeinated drinks make it difficult for the students to concentrate.

  • Red or purple drinks are not allowed in the building.
  • Animals are not allowed in the building.
  • Supervision on the playground begins at 8:25 a.m. daily and not beforehand. Kindergarten supervision begins at 9:15 a.m.
  • During cold weather, please send your child with adequate clothing.
  • Students need recess outside as much as possible.  If the wind chill is above 0oF, please plan on children heading outdoors for fresh air.
  • Toys from home, electronic devices, including video games and cell phones, are not allowed in the building and should be left at home.
  • Students wear blue on Fridays to show Northpark school spirit.
  • Students will be placed on their regular buses unless the office or classroom teacher receives a written note or phone call stating the parent is picking up the child.  Parents picking up their children are asked to be prompt.
  • Attendance and punctuality are most important.
  • Flip-flops and shoes with wheelies are strongly discouraged at the school.
  • Should your child need to be released from school early, please report directly to the office and your child will be called out of class.
  • Every person matters and every voice counts.

 Bus Procedures

To ensure success while riding school district transportation, parents and students should review the following guidelines together.

  • Follow the directions of the bus driver.
  • Stay in your seats; no walking or standing in the isle while the bus is moving. The driver's job is to keep you safe.
  • Leave toys and electronics at home. This includes cell phones and iPods.
  • Use inside, not outside voices.
  • Be to your bus stop five minutes early and ready for your bus to arrive.
  • Look for any lost gloves, hats, scarfs and any misplaced items in the lost and found in the school. Bus drivers will turn in any found items to the school office weekly.
  • Earn Stop & Think Bucks for showing positive behavior. Good behavior and high expectations don't end when students load onto the bus, it continues while riding the bus home.
  • When a child receives their third bus reteach they will be suspended from the bus for a day.  Consequences will increase as more reteaches come in.  The principal reserves the right to determine consequences as appropriate.
